Reinstatement

The Radiology Coding Certification Board (RCCB) has established the following credential restoration procedure to assist individuals whose RCC or RCCIR certification has been revoked.

This restoration procedure applies to individuals whose credentials were revoked because they failed to meet the requirements for continuing education as outlined in the RCCB Candidate Bulletin of Information.

Reinstatement

The RCCB has established the following certification reinstatement procedure to assist individuals whose RCC or RCCIR certification has been expired. This procedure applies to individuals whose certifications were revoked because they failed to meet the requirements for continuing education as outlined in the RCCB Candidate Bulletin of information or failed to pay their annual maintenance fees.

A reinstatement candidate is any person whose RCC or RCCIR certification has expired within the previous four years (two consecutive cycles). Coders whose certification has expired more than four years prior will not be considered reinstatement candidates and they will be required to apply and retake the RCCB examination in order to reinstate their certification.

To reinstate the RCC or RCCIR certification, a reinstatement candidate must submit the following to the RCCB:

  1. A $150 reinstatement fee plus any overdue annual maintenance fees as of the date of reinstatement.  Contact RCCB to determine what fees are owed at the time you are applying for reinstatement.

  2. Proof of completing the required number of 12 continuing education units (CEUs) every two years, including the lapsed period of time. The lapsed period may be pro-rated if reinstatement applied for during the midst of a 2-year cycle.
