Recertification By Continuing Education |
RCC and RCCIR recertification occurs every two years. A Certificant may recertify by either retaking the examination or by obtaining continuing education credits (CEU) in radiology coding. For information on recertification by examination, click here. Additionally, the certificant’s Annual Maintenance Fees must be paid and current to recertify. You must obtain 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) during the two years of the certification period to receive recertification by CEUs. You must retain proof of attaining 12 CEUs in radiology coding, such as certificates of attendance or other similar documents which show the name and date of the session, your name, and the number of CEUs given for the session. Certificants are encouraged to submit their CEUs in real time as they are earned, by logging in and reporting the activity. Submit CEU Hours OnlineCertificants are encouraged to submit their credits in real time as you earn them and NOT to wait until the end of your two-year period. You will automatically be recertified at the end of your two-year cycle, provided that you have reported 12 CEUs and paid your Annual Maintenance Fees. You must Sign In and submit your CEUs online under the Professional Development tab. Click here for instructions on how to submit your CEUs.
