Maria Tran, CPC, CIRCC, RCC, has been a coder for over 12 years and an RCC since 2015. Maria is an Economics Analyst in the coding section of the Economics & Health Policy department of the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR, a national professional association for diagnostic radiologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists, is located in Reston, VA. Among her current varied responsibilities, Maria contributes to ACR coding publications (ACR Radiology Coding Source, AMA/ACR Clinical Examples in Radiology) and coding guides, responds to ACR members coding questions, develops coding articles, and reviews and provides comment on proposed National Correct Coding Initiative edits. Maria has volunteered on several occasions to assist the RCCB Board of Directors. She is a graduate of the University of New Orleans and previously worked for the Ochsner Health System.
Renee A. Lien
Renee A. Lien, RCC, CPC, has been a senior coder with 3M Health Information Systems since December 2015. An RCC since 2004 and a CPC since May 2015, Renee oversees other coders and communicates directly with 3M’s clients. Prior to joining 3M, she worked at Longview Radiology for 25 years and as an independent contractor for several companies. Renee has furthered her education not only with RCCB, but through AAPC, MedLearn, and AHIMA. She was on the recent panel for RBMA and her local AAPC chapter. Renee believes that, “a coder is only as good with the help of other coders they surround themselves with.”.
A.J. Hernandez, BPS, RCC, CPC has been the Compliance and Privacy Officer for the past 10 years at Vantage Radiology & Diagnostic Services, P.S., a medium-sized practice and billing company in Federal Way, WA. Prior to this, she was an Interventional Radiology Lead Coder for Medical Imaging NW in Tacoma, WA for almost 8 years and worked her way up to the Compliance & HIPAA Officer position. Ms. Hernandez has a Bachelors of Professional Studies from the S.U.N.Y. at Brockport. She has been an RCC since 2001, and a CPC since 2003. She has been a Member of the Editorial Board for ACR/AMA’s Clinical Examples in Radiology since 2010, and she has played an active role in the RBMA Coding Forum list serve.
Cindy Pittmon, RCC, CHBME, FRBMA began her career as a radiology administrator in 1982. After earning her business degree from LeTourneau University in 1993, Cindy formed her own company, Acclaim Radiology Management. She is actively involved with the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) the Healthcare Billing and Management Association (HBMA).
In 1999, Cindy was asked to serve as Chair of the Coding Certification Task Force of RBMA. In May of 2000, the Radiology Coding Certification Board (RCCB) was formed as a non-profit, fully autonomous entity with the mission to promote the highest standards of radiology coding through credentialing of radiology coders. Cindy was honored to serve as the President of the RCCB Board of Directors from its inception until 2004. She completed her RCCB Director term in 2006. More than 1,000 professional radiology coders have earned the RCC credential.
In May, 2012 Cindy was named a Fellow of the RBMA, (FRBMA). The RBMA's criteria for selecting Fellows include their "educational accomplishments, years of RBMA membership, professional service to RBMA, and contributions to the profession".
Pat Kinsley, RT, CPC, RCC has been the coding and compliance manager for the past 14 years at Suburban Radiologic Consultants, a large group practice of 65 Radiologists in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She started as a radiologic technologist, and worked her way up to manager of a large multi-specialty clinic radiology department and a primary care clinic where she provided education to her staff for accreditation of ambulatory care clinics. Ms. Kinsley’s extensive background in radiology coding has made her an excellent educator. Her experiences have also included compliance as an internal auditor for a multi-specialty group. In addition, she has presented at RBMA Radiology Summit and Coding Mechanics sessions. Ms. Kinsley currently serves on RBMA’s Coding Subcommittee as well as on several other RBMA committees over the past 10 years, and is a former RCCB board member. She also currently serves on the ACR’s Economics Committee on Coding & Nomenclature as the RBMA liaison. In May 2014 she received a “Special Recognition Award” for her dedicated service to the RBMA.
